The R5 Desktop Wallet is a community-developed and open source wallet for the R5 Network, compatible with most desktop OS'.

Creating Your Wallet

Download the R5 Desktop Wallet via the , install, and run the software in your machine.

The application allows you to import and set up a wallet you already have using a "wallet file" or a "private key", but in this guide we will only cover how to set up a new wallet. For more information about how to import a wallet backup, please visit the .

As soon as you open the software, you will be prompted to either import an existing wallet file or indicate you don't have a wallet file to import. Click on the latter option.

Now you will have to create a password to protect your wallet. It's very important that you use a strong password. Even though wallet files are encrypted, if you ever backup your wallet and a malicious actor gets access to your wallet file, weak passwords make it easier for it to be brute-forced. Avoid using pet names, your date of birth, etc.

After setting your password you will be prompted to chose between importing a wallet using a private key or creating a new wallet. Click on the "Create Wallet" button.

Once your wallet is created, you will be prompted to type in your password to access it.

Once your wallet is unlocked, you will be able to use it to send and receive R5 coins. You can see your wallet address - as well as your current balance - on the lefthand side of the application's header.
